FOCUS ON SWITZERLAND I FRI 8 DEC I UBU 4 PM – 8:30 PM
“Trans and Switzerland, Ubu and La Dolce Vita, Jean-Louis and Marc. They’re all long musical stories steeped in friendship and laughs. It began with Sens Unik, Stephan Eicher, the Young Gods; then came Puts Marie and Sandor; and now it’s time for Mister Milano, Zeal & Ardor, Pandour and One Sentence. Supervisor. The Focus on Switzerland session is testimony to just how rich in talent the Swiss music scene has been over the past years. After several long trips to the Swiss mountains, Jean-Louis made his choice. The festival is incredibly appealing to artists, as it’s always a step ahead of the game, setting the trends not only here in France, but in Europe
and throughout the world too. And that’s down to their ability to create a programme that is totally independent of the market, yet one that both the general public and the music world trust. It’s a something that’s hard to come by these days, which makes it taste all the more sweeter.”
Marc Ridet, Director of Swiss Music Export.
KEXP X TRANS 2017 PARTNERSHIP
KEXP is an American radio station with a huge global audience in the independent music industry. KEXP made its rst ties with France in 2016 when they came to Rennes for the 38th edition of Trans festival, where they recorded live sessions for 12 artists – 9 of which were French – in various unusual and unique places around the city.
We’re incredibly delighted to be welcoming back the KEXP team for 2017. And this time round, we’re teaming up to create live sessions that’ll be played in front of an audience.
“Trans Musicales has a reputation for exposing audiences to some of the world’s most exciting emerging musical talent. The diversity and breadth of the festival programming perfectly aligns with KEXP’s mission to enrich your life by championing music and discovery. We believe that all good music deserves to be heard, seen, and experienced.
We were blown away by the booking at Trans Musicales in 2016, and through our partnership, we recorded, produced, and shared twelve amazing live performances with our audience. We are ecstatic to partner with Les Trans again in 2017, where we intend to capture and share some of the best music the festival has to offer.”
Chris Kellogg, Head of Programming at KEXP
