GAËTAN ROUSSEL (FR-USA)
We will not retrace the incredible and epic journey of Louise Attaque. An amazing journey of lyrical folk music and tireless club tours crowned by an historical success since their first album (millions sold based solely on word of mouth, it was before the internet era!). Contrary to what one might expect the 4 musicians refused to rest on their laurels to better flutter between various musical projects (Ali Dragon, Poney Express, Tétard…) while releasing 2 more albums under their initial formation. Gaëtan Roussel from his side, worked on Tarmac, signed the music of the controversial "Grolandic" Louise-Michel and co-wrote Alain Bashung's last album, "Bleu Pétrole". Discreet yet determined, he keeps his promise of taking us to the wind and vogues between Paris and New York to record his first solo Lp. Solo? Easy to say! The lavish list of musicians and producers that cooperated with him is as endless as it is breathtaking. Some of these illustrious names are Mark Plati (Bowie, Bashung…), Julien Delfaud (Herman Düne…) and a godfather of DFA, Tim Goldsworthy (The Rapture, UNKLE...), not to mention Renée Scroggins (ESG) nor his old friend Gordon Gano, leader of the mythical Violent Femmes. These last two will slip into the intimacy of "l'Aire Libre" and offer support to Gaëtan Roussel in g ving a sneak preview of this mysterious album set to be released in January 2010! We can already imagine an album lost between French and English, pop and folk, electro and groove… part of the mystery will be unveiled during those 5 evenings of unique and  different concerts when the man himself will delive  the songs he immortalised on bands.

78 RPM SELECTOR (FR)
Last year, Rosita Warlock and Mr Djub, alias 78 RPM Selector, set fire to the dance floor with their space-time 20s music experiment. Using two gramophones, one from 1912 the other from 1917, the two Djs spin their antediluvian seventy-eights. Supported by the performer Olaf Odgari, the pair playlisted prohibition smelling jazz, cotton field blues and pre-war music-hall. This year, for their return to the Trans, 78 RPM Selector obtained the cooperation of beat boxer Ezra. He will breathe a new rhythm into the pair's musical flights of fancy and bring another ancient tradition into this special mix that playswith the idea of genre, time and a certain notion of progress. Hold your breath for a trip back to the future!

GABLÉ (FR)
Crowned last year by his victory at the CQFD contest organised by the magazine "Les Inrockuptibles", GaBLé turned the massive crowd at the UBU upside down with his audacious and broken pop. Signed with an English label, the band ambitiously returns this year to offer a unique concert specifically tailored for the Trans Musicales. Knowing already that these young people have no fear and enjoy fiddling with drums, samples, loops and guitars, we are curious to see how their repertoire (old and new) will be enriched by the addition of cellist, a percussionist and a 15- person choir. It is one hell of chance to have GaBLé and his ideas in France!
